MAKO runs on ArmA 3. Operations use a curated modset and comms run on TeamSpeak — all of it is set up for you during orientation. You need the game, a microphone, and a free evening.
A paramilitary intelligence group under the DIA Directorate for Mission Services. The line runs back to the 1st Observation Detachment, 504th PIR — paratroopers who jumped into Sicily, Normandy, and Holland. Members are still called Observers.
American, allied, and everything in between. The recruiting pool has never been narrow, and it isn't now.
From a misdropped stick of paratroopers on a Sicilian beach to the detachments running today.

1st Observation Detachment, 504th PIR. Combat jumps into Sicily, Normandy, and Holland.

Sabotage and deep reconnaissance, usually beyond the reach of command.

Founded under the DIA. First deployment ran in the guise of Cuban exile forces.

Clandestine reconnaissance and counter-insurgency across Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

Narco-guerrilla conflicts, and the networks feeding them.

Inserted into the Zagros Mountains, watching the Republican Guard fall back toward Iran.

Target development and direct action, ahead of the conventional force.

Taliban communications broken open across Kandahar province.

Same berets. Same job. Still recruiting.
Everyone comes in through the pipeline. Finish an AIT and you're promoted to Staff Sergeant with a billet in Apache 1.
Out of orientation you're promoted to Sergeant and embedded with MACD 110. You carry belts for the gun and rockets for the AT man, hold your sector, and learn the detachment by working inside it. Prove yourself and you're offered an AIT.
Trauma care from the point of injury to the bird.
Further evaluationHold the nets together and put ordnance on target.
Further evaluationCrew-served guns, marksman work, everything heavier than a carbine.
Demolitions, breaching, and the kit that gets the detachment through.
You write the operation, set the enemy, and run it live. Everyone else finds out what you built when the ramp drops.
Further evaluationAssistant Detachment Commander. Highest enlisted authority in the detachment, and the one running it when the commander goes down.
Administration approvalDetachment Commander. The plan, the net, and every decision that comes after it are yours to own.

Where every new Observer starts. You run with the detachment as an assistant — ammunition for the gun, rockets for the AT man — until you're ready for an AIT.
The oldest element in MAKO, and the billet nearly everyone ends up in. Staff Sergeant and above, AIT complete.
The Guard element. Veterans and old friends of the unit. No activity requirement — come when you can.
Airframes go up when the operation calls for one, and seats are filled per mission. There is no dedicated pilot billet — every Observer fights on the ground first. If you can fly, say so.
Operations aren't one-offs. A curated team of Zeuses builds and runs a single continuous campaign against a storyline set in advance, and every mission is written from where the last one ended.
All times Eastern. Orientation comes first.
Saturday is the operation. Friday is not fixed — it depends on who is running the weekend, and it's announced ahead of time in Discord.
Hold a standard. Work a team. There's a red beret waiting.
